Diglipur, Aug 27: Alongwith the other parts of the Islands, Ganesh Chaturthi is being celebrated at Diglipur with religious fervor. The Ganesh Puja committees made elaborate arrangements for devotees where three puja committees organized puja in different pandals at Naveen Nagar, Old Powerhouse and Durgapur area. Thousands of devotees thronged the pandals in spite of rains.
People were seen dressed up in traditional attire and participated in various cultural programmes that were organized during the puja celebrations. Ganesh Vandana Aarti ceremony was performed time to time following with Prasad distribution among the devotees. Security was kept beefed by the Police Department.
