Port Blair, Aug 28:A programme was organized at JNRM on 27/08/2017 evening in the seminar hall in Honour of NSS National Director, Dr.Veerendra Mishra, IPS on his first visit to these Islands. Dr.Mishra who is also an Executive Director of NYK Sangatan was on a visit for a high level meeting at Port Blair. An Interaction of the programme Officers and volunteers was organized this evening was highly useful towards confidence building and motivating the students towards social activities by NSS forum. Speaking on the occasion, Dr.Mishra congratulated the NSS unit of JNRM for taking a lead role in motivating the students for a noble cause and providing them oppurtunities for personality development. Shri.A.K.Trivedi, Joint Secretary(Hr.Edn), Director, Sports and Youth Affairs,who is also the State NSS Officer spoke on the importance of confidence and team building and leadership to address the social issues where NSS can be a strong platform.
Dr.N.Francis Xavier, Principal, JNRM also spoke on the NSS activities and involvement of JNRM NSS in community activities and implementation of various programmes of GOI.
Earlier Dr.Kandimuthu, NSS State Programme Co-ordinator welcomed the gathering and spoke on the NSS functioning in A & N Islands. The programme concluded with the vote of thanks proposed by Dr.S.K.Jha, Programme Officer, NSS JNRM. The entire programme was moderated by NSS volunteer Miss Supreeta.T. The function was also attended by the programme officers and volunteers from other institution like ANCOL, DBRAIT and Govt.Model Sr. Sec. School.
