Port Blair, Aug 11: For the first time the Electricity Department is taken a step to “Go Green Paperless Electricity Billing”. The consumers coming under the Phoenix Bay, Aberdeen Bazar, Haddo and Prem Nagar site offices will receive their energy bills on their mobile(s) phone through SMS alert(s) instead of printed bills.
However, if any consumers fail to receive SMS alert(s) may collect printed bills from the counters of their respective site office. The department also appeals all the electricity consumers to register their mobile phone number(s) at their respective site offices if not already registered. The SMS billing for the month of July shall be implemented from August 2017. In case of any queries consumers may kindly approach to their respective site office.
