Port Blair, August 10: The Special Squad of Aberdeen Police Unit has again showing tremendous effort to curb the menace of Tobacco in these Islands has seized around 400 packets of Zarda and other Tobacco Products from Phoenix Bay area yesterday.
On credible information team consisting of Head Constable 910 Vijay Shanker, HC 633 V Hentho and PC Shiv Kumar under the overall supervision of DySP South Andaman, Mr Nishant Gupta and SHO Aberdeen Police Unit, Inspector AK Singh conducted a raid at a closed shop adjacent to Bilal Service Centre, Phoenix Bay and seized the huge quantity of Zarda.
The team arrested the accused/defaulter, Mohammed Illias, 46 years, resident of Phoenix Bay and after completing all the codal formalities handed over the seized products and Zarda to the Food Safety Officer for necessary action.
