Port Blair, August 06: In yet another case of crocodile attack, a 75 years old man namely Anil Mondol, a resident of Manglutan, has been attacked by a Crocodile this afternoon, when he was fishing alone in creek area, nearly 300 meters far away from Manglutan Fish Landing Centre.
As per reports, after the old man managed to hit the eye of the Crocodile, he managed to escape from the deadly attack. Even though, he suffered major injuries in his leg and a hand.
Soon after the attack the local fishermen informed the matter to the Forest Department following which the team of Wildlife immediately reached the spot and rushed the old man to the Gobind Ballabh Pant Hospital.
As per reports, the area where the man was fishing comes under the Marine National Park where fishing is totally illegal. A team of Wildlife will visit to spot tomorrow to rescue the Crocodile from the area. Further details in this regard are awaited.
There is much potential in crocodile breeding and it’s commercial values of its skin etc. As it is done by other countries. The Administration if make necessary amendments in Acts we can open up some employment opportunities.
