Port Blair, July 25: Shri Bishnu Pada Ray, M.P. of A & N Islands met Shri P.K.Sinha, Cabinet Secretary, Govt. of India on 24.07.2017 and presented a letter vide dated 20.07.2017 stating that some of the officers posted in A & N Islands are not performing adequately in the large interest of the Islanders.
These officers are mostly from Delhi and they are least bothered to visit the interior/remotest part of the Islands. They are spending major part of their tenure outside of the UT Islands and frequently visiting Delhi and other places at mainland for attending meeting/seminar etc. after spending crores of rupees of the UT fund.
Unfortunately, no fruitful results from those meetings/seminars have been seen. The UT Administration failed to implement the Central Schemes, resulted in which, the Islanders are still unaware of various developmental schemes launched by the NDA Govt.
In view of the above facts, Shri B.P.Ray, M.P. A & N Islands has further requested to make a provision for deputation/posting of Inter State Cadre Officers and All India other Service Officers like IFS, IFoS, IES, ITS, IIS etc (not belonging to AGMUT & DANICS) in UT of A & N Islands as special case to address the issues relating to development, empowerment of the Islanders etc for all around development of the Islands.
