Port Blair, June, 21: Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma, President, Pradesh Congress Committee has requested the Lt. Governor, Lt. Gen (Retd) Bhopinder Singh to release financial assistant for the treatment of a new-born baby (44 days old) Wingslee Joseph, who has hole in his heart and displaced lungs.
Kuldeep in his letter said that the Lt. Governor has already set an example in the islands by releasing financial assistance from LG’s relief fund for similar cases in the past.
A report was published by Andaman Sheekha, had highlighted this issue, mentioning that the new born baby has a hole in his heart and displaced lungs. The news mentioned that the parents of the new born baby are poor and can’t afford the cost of Wingslee’s heart operation in Mainland.
