Port Blair, July 20: Mr. Bishnu Pada Ray, the Member of Parliament, A& N Islands being a member of HMAC of this UT Islands amongst others has sent agenda item vide his letter dated 10.07.2017 for discussion in the meeting of Home Ministry Advisory Committee of A & N Islands scheduled to be held at New Delhi on 28.07.2017. Same has been also forwarded to the A & N Administration in hard and soft copy for doing the needful.According to a press release from MP office, the agenda items are as Grant of Ownership right over land in the UT of A&N Islands – Amendment in Land Regulation- Islanders still tenants.Formation of definite package for shifting/relocation of Katchal Tamil Settlers who were brought from Srilankan (repatriates) and other Non-Tribals to Non-tribal area in compliance of order of Hon’ble High Court passed in 2013. (MP Ref: Letter No. 03/MP/ANI/HM/2017/Del-455 dated 22.03.2017 addressed to Hon’ble HM). Grant of 1/30th Pay + DA to the DRMs working in the various departments since past 10-5 years as per GoI OM GoI OM No.49014/2/86-Estt (C) dated 7th June, 1988. Revision of Minimum wages from Rs.308 to Rs.550/- for Mazdoors. Grant of one time fund to PRIs for clearance of backlog payment (Rs.20.64 Cr) and also for C/o of New/repairing of existing roads (Rs.332.78 Cr). Implementation of recommendation of 4th UT Fin. Creation of separate I.T. department under UT Administration as Presently all I.T. projects are kept under Polytechnic by entrusting additional charge of Special Secretary to the Principal, DBRAIT Mr. Utpal Sharma whose performance is very very poor. MP requested many time to replace and entrust the charge of Secretary (IT) to an IAS but never listened.Raised in the State Plan Board – Decision taken meeting held during 2/2016 for separate I.T. department.
Diploma course and Degree (Engineering Course) in A&N Islands should be separated from existing polytechnic and it should be functioned independently under direct control of A&N Administration.
