The road users on Friday would find broken coconut shells and white pumpkins scattered on the middle of the road to ward off evil which is superstitious by shopkeepers, these coconut shell causes accidents when the two wheelers, especially scooters run over it or the shells get stuck to the mudguard or puncture the tyres of four wheelers. Besides, scooters also passing over white pumpkins just skid over it posing a great threat to two wheelers. If at all necessary, can’t they break these things just in front of the shop itself instead of breaking in the middle of the road which can take a precious life? few dental injury cases have come to my clinic in the past who had fallen prey to this. The question is who can be held responsible if an innocent person is hurt by it? And who will compensate? Moreover are there any road rules or law to educate them to minimise these kind of accidents.
Yours faithfully
