Port Blair, June 20: The Cold Chamber unit constructed by the A & N Coop. Supply & Marketing Federation Ltd., Port Blair at Industrial Estate, Dollygunj was inaugurated by Mr. Anand Prakash, IAS, Chief Secretary, A & N Administration on 20.06.2012 at 10.00 A.M. in presence of the Chairman Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Directors of the Federation, other officials of the Administration and members of general public.
Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Chairman conveyed thanks to the Administration for their contribution towards installation of the cold chamber for the development of coop. movement in the islands and said that more such unit will be installed soon for the benefit of the fishermen and farmers of these islands.
Mr. Balakrishnan Nair, Adhyaksh, Zilla Parishad appreciated the efforts of Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma for opening such cold storage unit for the benefit of the farmers which will certainly helps to preserve the commodities and control the Priceline in the market.
In his address to the gathering the Chief Secretary appreciated the effort made by the ANCOFED for the benefit of the farmers and fruit vendors in the islands. He further stressed to open more units to improve the economic condition of the farmers and fishermen community of in these islands.
The General Manager conveyed his thanks to the Chief Secretary for sparing his valuable time for the inauguration of the cold chamber unit. He he also thanked the Adhyaksh, Zilla Parishad, Chairperson, Municipal Council, Registrar of Coop. Societies, Director of Industries, Director of Agriculture, General Manager, NABARD and Director of Fisheries for their support for making the project come through.
