Port Blair, July 12: It seems law and order situation in Andaman is deteriorating day by day. A few days back two people in running auto had robbed wallet of a person and now case of chain snatching has been reported in Port Blair. Although Andaman and Nicobar Police is able to crack all cases but it seems there is no fear of law among some people in these Islands.
In this case, the Chatham Police Unit has succeeded in cracking a chain-snatching case that was reported on 11/07/2017 by arresting three persons in the city today.
Gold chain worth Rs 1 Lakh, were recovered from the arrested, identified as N Vasant Rao, R/o Dignabad, Ziul Islam, R/o Supply Line and Subramaniam, R/o Andhra Pradesh.
As per reports, yesterday morning the culprits snatched the chain of a woman who was walking near the All India Radio wearing a 24 gram gold.
It is learnt that the three culprits who were in a Moped bearing registration number ANO1L9017 snatched the chain of the woman following which she reported the matter to the Chatham Police Station.
Coming into action the DySP South Andaman, MA Nausad and Station House Officer Chatham Police Unit, Ins Abdul Rehman constituted a team following which the Investigating Officer, Sub-Inspector Anish Ibrahim, Sub Inspector Manoj Lall, Home Guard Selvaraj and PC Sudarshan worked very cleverly and extremely hard and finally within 24 hours arrested the culprits and cracked the case.
The IO of the case SI Anish Ibrahim and his team were also successful to recover the chain snatched from the woman.
