Port Blair, July 11: The former Branch Manager of Garacharma, Punjab National Bank, against whom some customers of Punjab National Bank had filed case of sanctioning loan in their name without their knowledge, has now been arrested. The Branch Manager was absconding for more than 08 months.
As per reports, the lady officer of PNB, was absconding since November 2016 after an FIR was registered against her. Meanwhile, it is learnt that the lady officer, who is presently suspended by the PNB, had also approached the Sessions Court and High Court and appealed for an Anticipatory Bail, which on both the occasions has been rejected.
As per the FIR, the lady officer has opened several ghost accounts under the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana when she was the Branch Manager of the Garacharma, Punjab National Bank for her own personal benefits.
The entire team of PS Central Crime Station under the leadership of Inspector Mahesh Kumar Yadav has worked extremely hard to arrest the accused and the victims of the financial fraud are appreciating the efforts of the Andaman & Nicobar Police and demanding justice from the Court.
