Port Blair, July 04: The Andaman and Nicobar Police is planning to appeal in Apex Court of India in North Andaman’s sexual harassment case against a senior forest officer, after the accused got bail from High Court yesterday.
Nearly one month back as many as five FIRs of sexual harassment were filed by female staffs of forest department of North Andaman region against the accused but the police was unable to trace out the accused.
In between, on 29th July the DFO got interim relief till 3rd July by Kolkata High court and on 3rd July finally the DFO got bail from Kolkata high Court.
“Now we are planning to appeal in Apex Court in this case,” Mr. Ingit Pratap Singh the Superintendent of Police of North and Middle Andaman told Andaman Sheekha today.
Since lodging of FIR the case has become most talked about case in Andaman and Nicobar Islands and even the lone Member of Parliament of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Mr. Bishnu Pada Ray along with all five victims had conducted a press conference, nearly two weeks back, against the DFO and demanded his immediate arrest.
