Port Blair, June 20: There is again good news from the Department of Animal Husbandry, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, the farmers of Neil and Havelock Islands will soon get a Cattle Farms, on both the Islands.
Talking to Andaman Sheekha, the Director of Animal Husbandry, Dr N C Podder said that looking at the good production of milk in the Neil Island the department is going to set up a Cattle Farm in the islands. He said that everyday more than 500-600 litres of milk are being transported to Port Blair.
Dr Podder said that not only a Cattle Farm but the department is also going to set up a hatchery in the Neil Island so that farmers can also run Poultry Farm business.
Dr Podder further added that the Department has already set up two Hatcheries in the Havelock following which a large number of farmers in the island are already running a Poultry Farm business and earning good money.
