Port Blair, Jun 20: The District Administration, Office of DC (SA) organized Tehsil Diwas on 17/06/17 at Rabinder Nagar, Panchayat Community Hall, Little Andaman under the Chairmanship of AC (HQ) Dr., Mohd. Rehan Raza. All HOD’s/HOO’s were present along with Pradhan, Rabindra Nagar, Shri Ganguly and Smti. Seema Sarkar, Pramukh, Hutbay andSecretaryTribal Council, Harminder Bay, Head Man &Up-Pramukh. People participated in huge numbers. The grievances were patiently heard by AC (HQ) and its redressal was done on the spot like electricity connection, transportation facilities etc. People were given opportunity to express themselves freely. The Pradhan, Rabindra Nagar requested for a permanent counter for issue of Adhaar Card. The Tribal Council Secretary from Harminder Bay Shri. Fesset and Shri Fred Levi, Head-Man demanded for a Community Hall at Harminder Bay and increase in quota of seats from Car Nicobar to Hutbay & Hutbay to Car Nicobar in allotment of tickets in ships. Residents also demanded for increase in the quota of sand allotment in total to L/Andaman so that more sand is available for construction material. Matter will be persuading by Forest Department with MOEF. Residents also requested for uninterrupted power supply reduction in duration of load shedding from the Electricity Department. All the HOO’s were directed to do the needful by AC (HQ).
The PRI’s and general people demonstrated their extreme happiness over this initiative of District Administration for bringing Administration to the door step of common man even at distant Islands.
