Port Blair, Jun 14: The State-In-Charge, Aam Aadmi Party Mr. Sanjay Meshack has demanded for regularization of Daily Rated Mazdoor under Transport Department.
In a letter addressed to Lt. Governor Mr.Sanjay Meshack, has requested for regularization of service of the Daily rated Mazadoors including conductors/ drivers/ skilled/ unskilled workers who are working in the State Transport Service Department for several years in the vacant posts of the department on seniority basis as it was done earlier.
Further he also requested to pay the arrears due of all the DRM’s by the department vide Order No. 2400 dated 31/07/2015. Meanwhile he also requested to deduct EPF from all the DRM’s conductors/drivers/skilled/unskilled working in the department since several years as deduction of EPF is done in other departments.
Mr. Meshack has also requested to provide HRA and travelling allowance if the DRMs are transferred to other Islands. Further informing he said that if the demands are not fulfilled the DRMs may go for a strike in the upcoming days for fulfillment o f their demands.
