Diglipur, Jun 09: A Regular Mazdoor of Forest Department Posted at Diglipur Forest Division has registered a case against an IFS Officer, who is presently posted in the Division as Divisional Forest Officer.
In a complaint letter addressed to the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Diglipur the lady alleged that the DFO was pressurising her for sexual favours since a very long time. In her complaint letter, the lady mentioned that she was appointed on compassionate ground after her husband’s death.
The complainant alleged that when she approached the DFO for posting in Diglipur head quarter area, to look after her son, instead of helping he harassed her by transferring her in remote locations.
The lady in her complaint also alleged that the DFO not only sexually harassed her but also many other employees of the Department.
The matter of concern here is that the Diglipur Police Unit has failed to trace out the DFO and he is absconding since last two days. Andaman Sheekha also learnt that the DFO cancelled his ticket to Chennai where he was supposed to attend training.
As per the latest reports, the complainant has already recorded a confessional statement in the Mayabunder Court. Sources told Andaman Sheekha that Police has also conducted a search in the house of the DFO situated at Port Blair.
The complaint was registered on 08/06/17 following which the Diglipur Police Unit registered a case against the DFO U/S 354 IPC.
Many also feels that there is something fishy in the case as in most of the complaints of Sexual Harassment, case is investigated by a Female Police Officer, but here, in this case the SHO Diglipur himself is the Investigating Officer.
