Port Blair, June 07: The Ograbraj Police Unit with the help of Police Staffs of Ferrargunj Police Check Post seized around 2 kgs of Wild Boar Meat from Rachi Basthi, Caddlegunj yesterday at around 07:20pm.
On a tip off, a team under the leadership of Sub Inspector Randhir Singh under the overall supervision of SHO Ograbraj Inspector Rizwan Hassan conducted a raid in the house of Sandesh Deg and seized 2kg of Wild Boar Meat.
It is learnt that the seized meat has been handed over to the Wildlife Department for testing. A case under section 50/51 Wildlife Protection Act 1972 has also been registered by the Ograbraj Police Unit and further investigations are on.
