Port Blair, May 31: The PCC President Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma has invited the attention of the Lt. Governor to the proposed increase of bus fare by A & N Administration with effect from 1/6/2017 and requested the LG to look into the matter and ensure roll back of bus fare as a welfare measure for islanders.
In his letter Shri Kuldeep stated that the current hike of bus charges is very much on the higher side and unbearable to the common man. This abnormal hike of bus fare will adversely affect the day to day life of common man, office going persons, school and college students who travels by buses daily.
The charges of private bus will also be increased subsequently. The exorbitant hike in bus fare is an another blow to the general public who are already facing irregular increase of prices of essential commodities and their day to day requirements, Shri Kuldeep added.
