Port Blair, June 18: Directorate of Tourism of this Administration in association with Tourism Service Providers is organizing ‘Monsoon Festival’ for the first time in Andaman & Nicobar Islands. This festival will be celebrated from 22nd June, 2012 to 24th June, 2012. The main venue of this festival will be the campus of Govt. Girls Sr. Secondary School at Port Blair. The concept behind organizing such festival is to popularize Andaman as a Monsoon destination where one can visit nature at its peak.
Singing talent before a live audience is in search from school children as well as from the Government officials. There will be two categories for school children. The junior category (male/female) will be from 6 yrs to 14 yrs of age whereas senior category (male/ female) will be from 15 years to 18 years of age. Interested participants may register their names at ‘Sports Section’ of Directorate of Education during working hours. Suitable prizes to the winners of all categories will be awarded apart from giving them a chance to perform live in front of large gathering on the concluding day function of ‘Monsoon Festival’ at the main venue.
