Port Blair, May 28: On 27.05.2017 at about 0630 hrs on receipt of credible information from the reliable sources regarding carrying of Banned Tobacco products by one suspect namely Mr. Sunil Das s/o Manascharan Das. On a tip off the Food Inspector, Mayabunder succeeded in apprehending the said suspect who arrived by MV Swarajdweep ship, coming from Kolkata today at Mayabunder jetty and recovered 20 Kg tobacco leaves and 60 pkts of Zarda which were secretly packed with Black Carbon papers and kept inside the sack of chilly and puffed rice.
As per law legal action has been initiated against Mr. Das. Further details are awaited.
