Port Blair, Apr 18: On 13.04.17 an incident was reported at PS Pahargaon wherein a lady informed that a young boy of age around 20 to 25 forcibly entered their house from the rear door and assaulted her and her 2 & half year old son, threatening them with a sharp knife. He also held the child hostage under knife point and demanded money. The lady threw her wallet on him and he ran away with all money she had in her purse. Due to the sudden and gruesome attack, the lady and child not only suffered physical injury but also went in trauma. Soon a manhunt was organized by Shri. Nishant Gupta, DySP(SA) and several teams of police personnel were deployed in and around Garacharma area to trace the accused. After prolonged profiling and strenuous efforts, the suspect was nabbed near Garacharma junction. The accused was identified as 21 year old Abhishek Rao S/o Narsimha Rao resident of Garacharma village.
The accused was immediately arrested and put through sustained interrogation wherein he confessed to the crime. Further investigation is in progress.
The entire operation was done under the command of Insp. Sahil Samsuddin, SHO PS Pahargaon and under the direct supervision of Shri Nishant Gupta Dy.SP South Andaman.
