Mayabunder April 15: The executive engineer posted at Zilla Parishad office at Mayabunder, Mr. R. Thirunavukkarasu aged 59 yrs R/o South Point died yesterday, because of drowning in a pond, in front of his quarter.
As per reports he used to regularly go for swimming in the pond before going to temple everyday.
The matter was informed by a local auto driver to the Mayabunder Police Station at about 07.00 am and immediately the police personnel reached there and brought him out from the pond and took him to the RP hospital but it was too late and the doctor declared him brought died.
After the Postmortem it was informed that he was died due to CVA. The body was later taken to Port Blair to be sent to his native place at Tamil Nadu, where his family and other relatives are waiting. DC, Adyaksha, ZP, EE, (APWD), Tahasildar, PRI Members, office staffs and General Public were present in the RP hospital and offered their condolence.
