Port Blair, April 16: In an unprecedented incident, a youth of Garacharma looted a woman, holding her minor girl on knife point at Garacharma on 13th April of this month.
As per reports, a youth namely Abhishek Rao, the accused has entered inside the house of the woman and somehow managed to hold the minor girl on knife point, he demanded money from the woman following which the woman gave all the cash amount i.e Rs. 2000 kept in her home, to the accused. After getting the cash the youth reportedly escaped from the spot.
After the matter was reported in the nearby Tylerabad Police Station, a team was constituted and the accused was arrested on the same day itself.
It is learnt that the Tylerabad Police has registered a case under section 354 and 453 IPC against the accused. It is also learnt that the accused is a son of a retired Police Personnel.
