Mayabunder, Mar 27: A two- days seminar on “Systematic Voter Education and Electoral Participation” is been organized from 27th March 2017 and 28th March 2017 at Mahatma Gandhi Govt. College Mayabunder sponsored by Election department of A& N Islands.
Shri. T.N.Meena, Assistant Commissioner, HQ, Mayabunder was the Chief Guest on the occasion. The function was inaugurated with lightening of lamps by the Chief guest and Guest of Honor Dr J.S. Manhas, Principal, MGGC, Mayabunder.
Shri VSV Meera Shetty, HOD, Commerce welcomed the gathering and Guests. Dr. Prabhuram, HOD, BCM and Convener of the seminar informed that during 27th & 28th March 2017 the resource persons will present their papers and on 29th March group discussion with resource persons and students will be carried on. In the seminar total 13 resource persons will present their papers.
Dr. Manhas, Principal, MGGC focused that the larger percentage of people should take part in the electoral system using their rights and if the voters elected a responsible representative to form the Govt., the democracy can be a successful one.
Shri. Meena also highlighted the needs and necessity of the voter education and maximum participation in the democratic electoral system.
He stressed on the voters to use their most powerful weapons by participating in electoral system to form a Govt. with full majority. He said that the success and failure of the democracy is totally dependent on the larger participation of voters and election of right & truthful representatives.
