Port Blair, Mar 10: The e-corner facility at Tehsil Office Port Blair and Ferrargunj has till date issued more than 16,000 certificates to the General Public as per their requirements.
While earlier for these certificates one has to run from pillar to post, today things have visibly improved.
People in the City have also highly appreciated the District Commissioner, Mr Udit Prakash Rai for putting extra efforts in the process of digitalization of certificates etc.
“Earlier it used to take 2-3 days to understand the procedure of getting any certificate from DC office but after everything is made available online, the work can been done sitting at home itself and if necessary e-corner is very helpful,” said Mr Alok Ram resident of the city.
Insiders also told Andaman Sheekha that soon Sketch Map of the entire city will also be available online for which the DC South Andaman is taking his keen interest to complete the process.
Prominent citizens are now demanding that various other departments in the Islands like Social Welfare Department, State Transport Service etc should also take initiative under the guidance of the DC South Andaman and open e-corners in their respective department, so that things become convenient for general public.
