
Port Blair, Mar 05: The Andaman & Nicobar State Cooperative Bank has become first Bank to inaugurate the Islands 1st Solar ATM on 03rd March, 2017 at JNRM College. Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Vice Chairman of the Bank was the chief guest on the occasion. The programme was also attended by Dr. N. Francis Xavier, Principal, JNRM Shri. Ravinder Rao Managing Director, ANSCB, Shri. K Murugan, CGM, ANSCB, Professors, Associate Professors of JNRM College and a large gathering of College students attended. Welcoming the delegates, Dr. N. Francis Xavier, Principal, JNRM has informed that this is the landmark event for the college to open a ATM in door step of JNRM College. He thanked to the Chairman and Vice Chairman of A&N State Cooperative Bank Ltd to open a solar ATM in the college premises. It will be helpful for the student and professor to withdraw the money. He further said that the college has published the requirement of ATM in the newspaper but A &NSCB has come forward to open a ATM. He informed that the JNRM is the first College to get Accreditation GRADE “A” by UGC. He requested to A&NSCB to open an extension counter of the Bank that will be helpful for the students during exams and admission of the students.
Dr. N. Rajavel, HOD, Commerce, JNRM has thanked to the Management of A&NSCB Ltd for opening one of its own kind of ATM. He said that ATM infrastructure looks attractive, young and enegetic like our students and enlisted the benefit of cashless and Digital Banking.
Shri. D. veera Kumar, MA(Eng), JNRM has informed about the benefit of cashless and digital Payement. He said that Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Vice Chairman, ANSCB took lot of initiative for the development of youth and always keen to take new initiative to promote the talent of young youth.
Shri. Ravinder Rao, Managing Director, A &N State Coop. Bank has informed that ANSCB, has added one more feather to its banking fold by the inauguration of its 19th ATM which is very special because this is the 1st solar ATM in the A &N Islands. He said that we are the leading Bank in the Islands with 41 branches right from Diglipur to campbellbay and our Rupay KCC Debit Card work through out India. He further said that we are doing innovative work for the welfare of the people like Old Age pension, Solar ATM etc. He also urged all the students to come forward to open and Account and avail ATM services of the bank.
Shri. R. Palaniswamy, Associate Professor, Commerce, JNRM informed that the Government of India started a campaign VISAKHA for promoting Digital and cashless awareness in the education institutions for students and Professors.
The Chief Guest Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma unveiled the plaque and inaugurated the ATM by cutting the ribbon.
Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Vice Chairman, ANSCB in his keynote Address He informed that the ANSCB working for the overall development of the Islands. He said that young student are the future of the Islands. He further said that there was a long pending demand from the Professors and student to start a ATM service at the premises of the College and which will attract to the tourist and the local resident also. He said that soon ANSCB will open an Extension counter in the college premises for the benefit of the student as requested by the Principal. Shri. Sharma opined that apart from doing profit ANSCB is more concern about the welfare of the islands that is the reason ANSCB come up with the public friendly schemes in the Island. He further said that the student should opt the career as per the need of the Islands such as tourism Sector, skill development, IT sector which encash better employment opportunities in the motherland.
