Port Blair, June 13: Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, president of Pradesh Congress Committee has urged the Superintending Engineer, CC-I, APWD to restore water supply as early as possible.
Mr. Sharma met Mr. Nawajish Ali, Superintending Engineer recently and apprised him about the potable water supply issues of various villages under Ferrargunj Tehsil. He informed the SE, that in areas like Bindraban, Ferrargunj, Caddlegunj, Kadakachang, Namunaghar and other neighbouring areas, water is supplied on alternate days.
With the onset of monsoon the water availability situation has improved in the Islands, hence Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma requested that daily water supply by the APWD may be restored as the villagers of the Ferrargunj Tehsil area are facing shortage of potable water. The Superintending Engineer, CC-I, APWD has reportedly assured Mr. Sharma to look into the matter and restore daily water supply as early as possible.
