Port Blair, Feb 20: In order to promote sports activities vigorously in the South Andaman District, especially in the Wimberlygunj zone, the Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs has constructed a Multipurpose Indoor Stadium in Kanyapuram village under the Ferrargunj Tehsil with the assistance of APWD.
The Lt. Governor, A&N Islands Prof. Jagdish Mukhi will inaugurate this Multipurpose Indoor Stadium at 10 am at Kanyapuram, Wimberlygunj, on Feb 22, 2017. The Member of Parliament, A&N Islands, Shri Bishnu Pada Ray and the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration, Shri Anindo Majumdar will also attend this function.
The Multipurpose Indoor Stadium has the facilities to conduct games like badminton, volley ball, basket ball and table tennis. It would be an added attraction and facility for the sports loving people of the South Andaman area.
