Port Blair, Feb 20: Ensuring strict action against contraband items, on 19.02.2017, a Police team of PS Hut Bay on reliable source of information, conducted a raid at R.B. Nagar, Little Andaman and arrested one person namely Sanyasi Biswas (48 yrs) R/o R.B. Nagar, Little Andaman from whose possession 3.58 Kgs of illicit Ganja was recovered and a case vide Crime No. 12/17 dated 19/02/2017 under Section 20(B) (II) (B) of NDPS Act 1985 was registered against him at PS Hut Bay and he will be produced before the Hon’ble Court at Port Blair.
Similarly, on 17.02.2017, acting on a credible information, a team of Police Station Havelock, conducted a raid at Govind Nagar-2 Havelock and arrested one person namely Basudev Mondal (24 yrs) R/o Govind Nagar-2 Havelock from whose possession 279 gram of illicit Ganja was recovered and a case vide Cr. No. 01/17 dated 17/02/2017 U/s 20(B)/(II) A of NDPS Act 1985 was registered.
The entire operation was monitored by Insp. Vishal Ram, SHO Hutbay and SI Ilangovan, SHO Havelock under the overall supervision of Shri M.K. Shukla, Dy.SP Havelock.
