Port Blair, Feb 08: The District Administration from its District Health Society, South Andaman (National Health Mission) under the aegis of Andaman & Nicobar Islands Integrated Development cooperative Ltd (ANIIDCO) has conducted the awareness programme on “Hazards of addiction of Alcohol, Tobacco and Drugs“ through the NGO Andaman Sai Seva Samiti at Senior Secondary School Kendriya Vidyalaya-II, Senior Secondary School, School Line on 08th Feb, 2017.
Awareness programme on various aspects of addiction and de-addiction by means of Power Point Presentation was presented to the students of these schools. They were informed about the causes of addiction and its hazards to the person (as individual), the society and the nation as a whole. Plays (Nataks) were also performed in these schools wherein modes of addiction, causes of addiction, peer effect on addiction and various methods of de-addiction were presented and thereafter students shared their views and gained enormous knowledge about “De-addiction” during the interaction session with resource persons.
Altogether 110 students of Kendriya Vidyalaya-II, 110 students of Navy Children School, Minnie Bay and 60 students of School line School along with Principal and teachers were present in the programme.
