Port Blair, Jan 25: The new Aadhaar Act mandates that each citizen of India should have an Aadhar card. Keeping this in view the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights has issued directions to all State/UT Commission for Protection of Child Rights to ensure that children staying in Child Care Institutions (CCI’s) who do not have identity may be facilitated with Aadhaar card through the Superintendents of CCI’s who would be the introducers.
The A&N UT Commission for Protection of Child Rights has issued necessary direction in this regard to the Director, Civil Supplies to do the needful.
Smt. Kiran Tigga, Officiating Chairperson, A&N UTCPCR has made an appeal to all the institutional Heads of CCI’s to approach the Civil Supplies Department for preparation of Aadhaar card in case of children who do not have any identity proof. In case there is any problem they may approach the A&N UT Commission for Protection of Child Rights for necessary assistance.
