Port Blair, Jan 24: Mahila Congress committee of A& N islands has organized a convention of women at RUAC Bambooflat on 21.01.2017. Smti Hazina Syed, National Secretary of All India Mahila Congress was the Chief guest. The prominent leader of Mahila Congress Smti Shanta Singh, President Pradesh Mahila Congress, Miss V.k.Mariyam Bibi, General Secretary Pradesh Mahila Congress, Smti Zubaida, Smti Puspanjali Raju, Smti Ratna Kannan, Smti Neelaveni, Smti Ramavati expressed their views regarding demonetization and it’s impact on rural women and their family.
Smti Hazina Syed in her address highlighted the problems of farmers, mazdoor and the rural mass in all over the India especially in the villagers. She appealed the womenfolk present in the convention to show strong protest against the decision of NDA Govt. led by Shri Narender Modiji for putting the people of India in difficulties by announcing Tuklagbhaji demonetization program. She further said that the developmental activities in A & N Islands was executed by the UPA Government on which Modi Government spoke so much on the atrocities against women but under the Modi’s Government the atrocities against women has gone up by 30%. So further it was decided that Mahila Congress will hold a huge protest against the demonetization and atrocities against the price rise across the Islands.
The meeting was concluded by the proposal of vote of thanks to the chair by Smti Alima Bibi, General Secretary Pradesh Mahila Congress. A large number of women also attended the program.
