Port Blair, Dec 18: With the upcoming winter vacation, the Tourism Department, A&N Administration is back with its much awaited Weekend Utsav (Flea Market), shall be organized every alternate weekend from 24th & 25th December, 2016 onwards at Marina Park from 4 Pm to 10 PM. The event is successful merely because of the involvement of people from all walks of life particularly the Islanders, NGOs, SHGs, Cultural Associations, Tourism stakeholders etc. The purpose for once again presenting a truly “Relaxing, Rejuvenating, Rejoicing event is to showcase the rich culture/tradition of A&N Islands to visiting tourist besides unmatched immense beauty of the Islands.
The interested local cultural groups/individuals/NGOs/SHGs who wish to display/sale various forms of art & handicrafts, paintings, jewelry, flowering & ornaments plants, decorative items made of wood, bamboo, educational books, DVDs, designer clothes, tattoo work, live sketch, mehndi work, homemade food & drinks, decorative pots made of clay, furniture items, fun games etc and also intending to exhibit their talents in the form of music/dance/skits/poetry/Mimicry/Puppet show/Yoga/skating etc. during flea market shall submit their application to this office on or before 21.12.2016 upto 4.00 pm.
The application form in this regard may be downloaded from the official website www.andamans.gov.in or can obtain from the Manager (GH), Directorate of Tourism, Tel No. 03192-244081. The filled application form with terms & condition duly signed by the applicant should reach to this office on or before the date & time mentioned above for submission of application so that allotment of stall could be done as per criteria fixed by the department.
