Port Blair, Dec 18: The Andaman and Nicobar Administration began recruitment process for filling up 302 posts of LGC in 2013 and for this the written tests were conducted in 2014 and trade test were completed in 2016 but even after three long years the Administration has failed to complete the process.
Nearly 15000 candidates had appeared in written test and nearly 1500 had appeared in trade test and now most of the candidates out of these 1500 are living under total uncertain future as the Administration is unable to declare the final results. Many candidates have become over-aged and now fear that they might not get this job in any way. Anger is at its peak and stress is building up on the unemployed youths but the Administration is only giving false assurances.
The Secretary (Perl) told atleast three different media units nearly two months back that the results will be declared within a few weeks but nothing actually happened in reality.
The political parties are also losing patience because of tremendous public pressure on them.
Talking to Andaman Sheekha, the Former Chairperson of Port Blair Municipal Council Mrs Sheela Singh said that more delay in announcing the results is not acceptable.
“The administration must have to declare the results as soon as possible because there is a huge shortage of staffs in many departments which have to be filled on the priority,” Mrs Sheela said.
Further talking to Andaman Sheekha, the Convenor, Aam Aadmi Party, Mr Sanjay Meshack said that already three years has passed and this is too much.
“We are only getting false promises from top officials, which is highly shameful. Youths demand immediate declaration of final results,” said Mr Meshack.
Mr Sanjay Meshack further requested the Lt Governor, Andaman Nicobar Islands to intervene into this matter for the sake of local youths.
