
Port Blair, Dec 05: In order to promote cashless transaction, awareness program for the shopkeepers of Aberdeen Bazaar area was conducted in the conference hall of PS Aberdeen. About 40 shopkeepers attended the program. During the program SDPO South Andaman Shri Ajay Kumar Rai and SHO PS Aberdeen Inspr. Mahesh Kumar imparted knowledge to the gathering about cashless transaction and the benefits. It was also urged to the shopkeepers to install POS terminals in their shops to avoid cash transactions. Dy. Manager of Axis Bank was also present in the program and briefed the shopkeepers regarding the usage of Net Banking and explained the benefits of different methods of cashless transactions. He also requested to share the information about the use of mobile App based Banking such as SBI Buddy, PayTM, use of POS Machine, E-Wallet etc. amongst the general public as well as their family members. To promote the awareness amongst general public regarding cashless and digital transactions, A & N Police has displayed banners in many prominent places in the jurisdiction of South Andaman Sub-Division. Similar program was also conducted by SHO PS Pahargaon and SHO PS Chatham in their respective jurisdiction in public interest.
