Port Blair, Nov 18: The 5th Day Celebration of the 63rd All India Cooperative Week Celebration was inaugurated on 18th Nov, 2016 at Gram panchayat Hall, Neil Island by Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Chairman, A &N State Cooperative Union as Chief Guest in presence of Shri. S. Raju, DRCS, (HQ), Shri. Abdul Rasheed, ARCS, Shri. V.S. Anil Kumar, ARCS, Shri. Y.N. Choudary, ARCS, Representatives of various Apex Level Cooperative, Govt officials, PRI members and a large gathering of people of Neil Island.

Welcoming the Chief Guest Shri. Raghubir Singh, AGM, Cooperative Bank conveyed his welcome address.
Shri. S. Raju, DRCS, (H.Q) in his address informed and Technology plays a very important role in cooperative sector. He further cited the example of Amul Diary success story with the gathering. He also explained that at the time of his visit to AMUL(Anand Milk Union Ltd) he observe that technological advancement has helped a lot to improve the efficiency of the Diary Societies affiliated to Amul. He further explained the procedure and guidelines for the formation of new cooperative societies, he further urge all the people present on the occasion to come forward and join hands with cooperative moment.
Shri. Abdul Rasheed, ARCS spoke on the topic “Technology Adoption by cooperatives” he informed the gathering that today’s world is technology driven i.e each and every component is linked to the applications of Technological Advancement. He further added that it is the responsibility of the people to come forward and upgrade themselves regarding the advancement in technology. He further cited the example of various Apex level societies who have come up through technological advancement like A&N State Cooperative Bank Ltd, which render banking services through its 41 branches in core banking mode. The ATM card issued by A&N State Coop. Bank is accessable across the country, similarly the ATM cards of the other banks also accessable in the ATMs of A&N State Coop. Bank. He further appreciated the initiative of Board of Directors and Management of A &N State Coop. Bank for such technological adoption and serving the remote islands of A&N Islands. He also appreciated the services and activities of KRISHI Service Coop. Society, Neil Islands.
In his key note address Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Chairman, A&N State Coop. Union expressed his whole hearted thanks to the RCS Dept and people present on the occasion for attending the 63rd All India Coop. Week Celebration. He also explained and urged the people to come forward and make Self Help Groups. He cited the example of successful Self Help Groups undertaking various works.
Shri. Pancham Biswas, Secretary, Krishi Service Coop. Society informed various work carried out by KRISHI Service Cooperative Society such as computer Training, Trading activity of Milk, Packed Drinking water and other proposed works. He further thanked Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma for the unconditional support and guidance in computerisation of PACS.
