Port Blair, Nov 11: A man namely Modi Ram, 66 years R/o Uttar Pradesh, Ghaziabad, who had reportedly boarded the vessel MV Harshavardhana on 13th November from Kolkata is believe to be missing from the ship, it is learnt.
As per reports, the belongings of Mr Modi Ram with a Mobile Phone and Rs 2600 cash, was found by the Crew members of the ship, much after all passengers disembarked from the ship.
Suspecting missing luggage the Captain reported the matter to the Police so that police can take the belongings of the person into their custody.
A team of Police and CISF is conducting the search for the missing person, it is learnt.
Sources said that there are three possibilities. “The person might have got down from ship at Kolkata after leaving luggage. Second possibility is he might have fallen into the sea from ship and last possibility could be he left his luggage and left the ship at Port Blair but last possibility is unlikely as no one has come back to claim the luggage yet,” a source added.
It has been learnt that tomorrow the CISF team will check all possible CCTV footage of port area.
