Port Blair, Nov 17: A team of Forest Department has seized nearly 90 kg of Shells from a possession of a trader on Tuesday.
It is learnt that the trader was carrying raw shells to present it in an exhibition at Assam.
As per reports, the shells come under schedule 4 of Wildlife Act and as per law only polished shells that too without permission, can only be transported out from Andamans.
It is learnt that the Forest Department later handed over the shells to the Fisheries Department. Further details are awaited.
