Port Blair, Nov 17: A King Cobra of 5-6 ft. in length and 3.5 kg in weight was rescued from a House situated at Chakkargaon this evening at around 09:00pm.
Earlier atleast in three occasions King Cobra of different sizes were rescued from Chakkargaon area.
As per reports, the King Cobra was sighted by the House Owner just after he opened the doors. The King Cobra was reportedly eating another Rat Snake when it was sighted.
The house owner Mr Lachaia immediately informed the matter to the Forest Department after which a team of Forest Department, headed by Deputy Ranger Manjit Singh and Rama Rao, rescued the Snake.
Public of the area lauded the efforts of Deputy Ranger Manjit Singh, Rama Rao and the entire team for working round the clock to attend snake calls.
