Port Blair, Nov 16: Two boys drowned in ‘Rao Pond’ of Barud Godam area, Bird Line, Port Blair this evening. V Dilip Kumar, 14, R/o Neil Island and Vijay Sai, 10, R/o Bird Line lost their lives in this tragic incident.
As per sources, this evening, the duo with one of their friend went to ‘Rao Pond’ and while walking on the edge of the Pond, they lost their balance and fell into the pond.
Sources said that their friend tried his best to help them out but he couldn’t, after which he immediately started shouting for help and he ran towards his father and informed him about the incident.
The matter was soon reported to the Police and the residents of the area reached the spot immediately. When both the teenagers were brought out of the pond, they were unconscious.
With the help of the Police both the teenagers were rushed to the nearby Garacharma Hospital where both the teenagers were declared brought dead. More than 200-250 residents of the area gathered in front of the Garacharma Hospital to know more about this incident, it is learnt. Police team of Telylerabad Police Station has registered a case of Unnatural Death in this regard.
