Campbell Bay, Nov 14: Shortage of Money at the Syndicate as well as Cooperative Bank Branches at Campbell Bay has brought immense trouble for the Customers of the area. As per reports, both the banks of the area were issuing only a limited amount of money even to those who were in urgent need.
On 13th November both the banks at Campbell Bay closed their shutters by 03:30 pm due to shortage of money, it is learnt.
“Yesterday the Syndicate Bank was releasing an amount of Rs 300 only because of which I had to suffer a lot, I could not buy my household things, finally letting me to borrow some money from my friend, I have to struggle at the bank to get my own money,” said a resident of the area.
However, the banks have released certain amount to the people who had to travel to Port Blair by ship MV Chowra yesterday.
Talking to Andaman Sheekha over phone, the Regional Manager, State Bank of India, A&N Islands said that the authorities of the Syndicate as well as Cooperative Bank have already taken the cash for the Branches of Campbell Bay Island yesterday and soon the problem will be sorted out.
