Port Blair, Nov 13: Bringing big relief for people of these islands, Rs 2000 notes has finally reached Port Blair, till now people of these islands were getting only limited amount of money that too in denomination of Rs 10, Rs20, Rs 50,Rs 100 which was a huge inconvenience for everyone. Finally with arrival of Rs 2000 notes people will be able to get notes easily from bank but getting change for these big notes will still remain a challenge for public in open market.
As per reports, the notes of Rs 2000 reached the Port Blair City via flight yesterday and the notes were released to the customers today by various Banks of the Port Blair City.
Talking to Andaman Sheekha, the Regional Manager, SBI, Mr Aloke Kumar Saha said that the notes of Rs 2000 has also being sent to the inter islands today and it will be available there by tomorrow.
