Port Blair, Nov 11: On 05.11.2016 at 05.00 PM, an awareness programme on abuse of alcohol and tobacco consumption was conducted at Danapur Community Hall, Mayabunder. A play on adverse effects of alcohol and tobacco on the society was performed by the students of Mahatma Gandhi Govt. College, Mayabunder. The programme was witnessed by about 60 local residents. Shri Parvinder Singh, Superintendent of Police, North & Middle Andaman District was the chief guest of the occasion.
The main objective of this programme was to create awareness among the General Public about the ill effect of alcoholism and consumption of Tobacco on the society. The play was appreciated by the general public. The chief guest delivered a speech on the aforesaid topic and also informed that the Police Department is going to conduct such programmes at various places under North & Middle Andaman District in future.
