Port Blair, Nov 10: Protesting against the Andaman & Nicobar Police for not apprehending the culprits who assaulted Advocate Alokesh Sarkar recently; the Bar Association members were on pen- down strike today.
According to Bar Association Secretary, Advocate Shiva Balan, members of Bar Association were on pen- down strike today, in protest of delay in action in this case.
“Even after 17 days of the crime, the police department has failed to arrest the culprits, who assaulted Lawyer Alokesh Sarkar,” Advocate Balan said.
“We are going to organize a meeting of the association tomorrow morning and after the decision of majority of members, we will decide whether we are going to continue the strike or not,” Lawyer Shiva Balan said .
