Port Blair, Nov 2: The Armed Forces Flag Day is observed every year on December 7 throughout the country in memory of the brave heart soldiers of Army, Navy and Air Force. The theme behind the celebration is to express the nation’s solidarity with the soldiers in recognition of their scarifies for the sake of our country, India.
The Flag Day is a solemn reminder of the nation’s obligation toward the Armed Forces for their glories achievements and the saga of their service and sacrifice for the Motherland. Every year on 7 th December, we renew our solidarity with our valiant soldiers, sailors and airmen, both serving and retired. We remember on this day, the courage and sacrifices of those who preserve the territorial integrity of our country. The Indian Armed Forces have brought glory to themselves and to our Motherland with their exemplary record of service, in time of war as well as peace.
Token flags and car stickers are being distributed through various Schools/Colleges and Government Organizations/Departments by A& N Rajya Sainik Board. The celebrating Flag Day is also sacrifice for the safety and integrity of our nation. So it’s our responsibility to sport them donating generously on Flag Day by purchasing small flags sold through Schools/Colleges, Govt. Department, PUCs for raising funds for various welfare schemes to assist our disabled soldiers, their widows and dependents of those who sacrificed their lives for the Nation.
The President, Prime Minister and Lt. Governor of A& N Islands appeal to all Citizens to contribute generously to the Flag Day Fund. The Fund money is used to the cause of the welfare and rehabilitation of ex-servicemen.
