Port Blair, Nov 01: The Indian Meteorological Department has forecast heavy rain (07-11 cm) at isolated places over Andaman and Nicobar Islands in the next 48 hours. Under the influence of low pressure area over South Andaman sea and neighbourhood, strong wind speed between 30 and 40 kmph gusting to 50 kmph will prevail along and off Andaman and Nicobar coasts and fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea during the period. Local Cautionary Signal No-III hoisted at Port Blair Port. The general public have been advised to take precautionary measures and contact the State Control Room, District Control Room and Emergency Operation Centres in case of any emergency.
