Port Blair, Nov 01: Nehru Yuva Kendra, Rangat in collaboration with Star Youth Club, Karmatang observed the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel as Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day) Monday at Karmatang village, Mayabunder in which 50 youths from the nearest village participated. Mr Lowrence Kullu, Member of Rampur Panchayat was the chief guest and paid homage by garlanding to the portrait of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Administering the pledge on Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, Mr Kullu urged the youth to be united for the sake of our country and communicate the message of unity to the youth of the country.
A run for unity of 2 k.m. from Karmatang No. 11 to Karmatang No. 10 and back was also organised and flagged off by the chief guest and participated by 30 youths of the area. Quiz competition on the topic of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was also organised in which 13 children were participated. Miss Nav Charity, Miss Priyanka Kullu and Rimshi Kerketta stood 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively. Mr Saw Colombus, retired teacher distributed prizes among the winners.
A friendly football knockout match was played between school team V/s Gobra team to mark the occasion. Mr William Prakash Kullu, Secretary of Star Youth Club, Karmatang proposed vote of thanks.
The Nehru Yuva Kendra, Rangat in collaboration with Federation of Anti Corruption to India, Rangat Unit observed Vigilance Awareness Day on Monday at Parnashala Panchayat Hall in which 30 youths of the area participated. On the occasion Miss Shivani Minj, Pradhan, Parnashala Panchayat was the chief guest and also administrated pledge on Rashtriya Ekta Diwas to participants. Shri D. Thangaswamy, Secretary of Federation of Anti Corruption to India, Rangat Unit delivered speech about the importance of the day, Role of youth in making corruption free society and RTI . The chief guest urged the youths to disseminate the message among the people and we should start for corruption free society from the grass root level. She stressed on Honesty is the policy. Mr Sudhir Kr. Toppo, ACT of NYK, Rangat proposed vote of thanks.
