Port Blair, Oct 26: ICAR-Central Island Agricultural Research Institute (CIARI) here conducted a training-cum-demonstration on flower bouquet and flower arrangement at Hobdipur, Ferrargunj block in collaboration with ATMA. The training programme was inaugurated by the Gram Panchayat Pradhan on Tuesday which was attended by 26 farmers. The training programme was coordinated by Dr. V. Baskaran, Senior Scientist, CIARI, Port Blair under the guidance and supervision of Dr. S. Dam Roy, Director, ICAR-CIARI, Port Blair. He briefed the farmers about the importance and techniques for growing commercial flower crops. He demonstrated the farmers about the technology of flower bouquet preparation and flower arrangement in vases. The participants were given hands on training about bouquet making and flower arrangement. The farmers showed lots of interests to learn the technology know how. The planting materials of tuberose were distributed to the farmers for growing in their home gardens.
