Port Blair, Oct 21: Shri Anindo Majumdar, Chief Secretary visited Havelock Island along with Dy. Commissioner (SA) Shri Udit Prakash Rai on 20.10.2016. During the visit, the Chief Secretary chaired a meeting with the PRIs, Social Workers and the departmental heads to address various issues raised by the people of Havelock from time to time. In the meeting, the issues like frequent power cuts, inadequate ferry services, requirement of CHC, matter related to Education department, etc. were brought to the knowledge of the Chief Secretary. After giving a patient hearing on all the issues, the Chief Secretary has assured to take appropriate action and directed the respective departments to sort out the issues promptly.
Chief Secretary further assured that department heads of Shipping & Power shall be visiting Havelock soon to resolve the issues. He also assured that action shall be taken on all issues raised and subsequently it shall be reviewed in the next visit with a month.
